Karl May Verzamelplaatjes Serie C30 Das Buschgespenst

 

GDR TV made Das Buschgespenst into a 2-part movie version in 1986. Most unfortunately, it disappeared from YT.
In a trade mark scene, forester Wunderlich (Kurt Böwe) criticizes the inn-keeper (Fred Delmare) for collaborating with the cruel smugglers. Leaving the inn, he spots Selmar Werner’s famous Karl May portrait near the door, wipes his finger through the dust, thundering down at the inn-keeper: “Das hat er nicht verdient!” – “He doesn’t deserve that!”, marking the re-evaluation of Karl May and his books in the GDR, which had been long overdue.
